2(c). Location of Christchurch in Dorset
Richard Randerson/Charles Clark
Christchurch lies on the south coast of England between Bournemouth and the New Forest, historically in Hampshire but with local government reorganisation in 1974 it became the most easterly Borough in Dorset.

In 2019 it was merged with Bournemouth and Poole to form a unitary council known as BCP (Dorset County Council was abolished). Some of the ancient traditions of the old Christchurch Borough Council (formed in 1297) are retained by the newly-created Town Council, such as the Mayor.
