DESCRIPTION OF RECORD:

Mrs Rose Andrews shown pointing out the bench where her mother Mrs Sharlotte Drover worked on Fusee chains in their cottage in Wick Lane Christchurch. This photograph has been used on the front of the reprinted version of Allen Whites book 'The Makers' and also on page 32.Mrs Rose Andrews, nee Drover, was born in 1876 at 56 Wick Lane, her mother Mrs Drover nee Starkes, was born in 1838. Both worked for Harts Fusee chain factory in Christchurch.
