Anti-tank Island formed at Christchurch by the rivers Avon, Stour and the railway line during World War 2. The pill box at the old railway goods yard its associated 48 anti tank obstacles between the Avon and Fairmile are scheduled as an Ancient Monument Dorset No 832.
