Much of Christchurch Borough today was in Domesday part of 'Egheiete' (Edgegate) Hundred (less Holdenhurst) and small parts of Shirley (Shire Clearing) e.g. Winkton and a part of bashley in Rowditch Hundred and land at Hinton Admiral.
