DESCRIPTION OF RECORD:
Print of a group of thatched buildings fronted by railings. In the foreground are 5 children who are all intent on watching the photographer. Printed details have been added underneath the print: 'school (founded 1846 for Estate) Cottage (cob in brick N.E. Gothic bay added for school master), Head 1878 Fred Mapp, 1886 - 1929 Jn Vorse. Closed as Hants C C. School Easter 1967, became Nursery School. etc.
John Vorse was the Schoolmaster at Hinton Admiral School and living in the school house there. This is shown in the 1891 - 1911 census details. Fred Mapp also appears in the 1881 & 1891, census but not as the schoolmaster
