Shirvells bakery, Purewell

Long thatched building with 2 eyebrow upper windows, surrounded by fencing and a front gate. ‘Shirvells Confectioners’ sign on wall under eaves. Shirvells started bakery here in 1811 and expanded to 71 Purewell in 1898, premises at Purewell Cross were closed around 1909. Building remained as a private house until it was demolished in 1960.
