Church Street

Allen white collection. The Eight Bells Inn in Church Street Christchurch. Standing outside is Arthur Joy the last landlord of the Inn in 1907, standing with him is a small boy. The Inn was called the 8th Bell at the time when 7 bells were the full at the Priory. This photograph used in Allen Whites book on Church Street, page 17, page 16 of the book gives a list of landlords, includes Arthur Joy 1905 to its closure in 1907.
