  • Welcome to Christchurch History Society

We are pleased to announce that, as we ease out of pandemic lockdown, SOME SEMBLANCE OF NORMALITY  is back. Terms have been agreed with Christchurch Junior School to return to their hall for our live meetings. These started on Tuesday 7th September and continue on the first Tuesday of each month..

The Christchurch History Society organises ten evening meetings a year, visits, guided walks and attends community events.     It also has a group of volunteers that carries out research on specific topics (but NOT – please note – family history) and the Society is constantly extending its archive.    More information is being added to this website all the time, and we welcome your contributions.     Find out more about the Society or contact us.      Please browse the On-Line Catalogue of the Archive or dip into the website to explore the history of Christchurch.      A Step by Step Guide to Searching the Archive is available.
