Step by Step Guide to Searching the Archives

Richard Randerson

A Step by Step Guide to how to browse, search and use the Christchurch History Society On-Line Catalogue search facility is available below to help the users get to the individual archival item(s) in which they are interested.    By following the Guide it is possible to identify the Reference Number(s) and / or Filename(s) of the item(s) which the user wishes to refer to during a visit to the Archive Room of the Christchurch History Society.

If you wish to visit the Archive Room and view any records that you have located by using the on-line catalogue please download the Visit Application Form and enter the Reference Number and, if a digital record, the Filename onto the Form and complete all other details and post it with a donation as suggested on the Research and Family History Enquiries Page to The Research Co-Ordinator, Christchurch History Society, The Porch Room, Priory House, Christchurch, Dorset, BH23 1BX.     A mutually convenient appointment will then be made for you to visit the Archive Room.
